Fête du Canada, formerly known as Dominion Day, is the national day of Canada. The holiday commemorates the anniversary of Canada's confederation on July 1, 1867, when the British North America Act united the colonies of British North America into a single Dominion.

The National Capital Region hosts the largest celebration with the Canada Day Parade and the spectacular fireworks display over Parliament Hill and a day-long concert at the Canadian War Museum.
