Boston Celtics Injury Report Espn

Celtics' Porzingis to Miss Several Games With Calf Strain

Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis is expected to miss a minimum of several games with a right soleus strain suffered in Game 4 sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Saturday

The Celtics later described the injury as a calf sprain, while ESPN reported that an on-site test for an Achilles tear came back negative, though further imaging was scheduled for Saturday night.

Porzingis exited Game 4 late in the first quarter after appearing to tweak his right leg while guarding Anthony Davis. He walked gingerly to the locker room and did not return. The Celtics went on to a 107-93 Game 4 win that tied the Eastern Conference semifinals at 2-2.

The Celtics will host Game 5 on Tuesday night and Game 7 on Friday night if necessary. Porzingis' absence would be a major blow to the Celtics, who are already without Robert Williams III (knee). Daniel Theis is expected to start in Porzingis' place.

Porzingis is averaging 14.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game in the playoffs. He has shot 43.7% from the field and 36.4% from 3-point range.
